Call sheet
The one-page document that tells everyone where to be, when, and what happens that day.
A call sheet is the operational summary of a shoot day. Date, location with an address people can navigate to, call times per person, the shooting order, contacts with live phone numbers, and anything about the day that isn't obvious: parking, access codes, who has the key.
It exists because a shoot day has too many moving parts to hold in a group chat. When something goes wrong at seven in the morning, the call sheet is what people look at instead of calling you.
The commonest failure is a beautiful call sheet that nobody has. It needs to be in the hands of every person on it the night before, in a format that opens on a phone, with the address as text somebody can paste into a map.
Where this comes up
What goes on a call sheet, why each line is there, and the one failure that ruins an otherwise perfect one: nobody having it.
Most delays on a shoot trace back to something the brand never sent. The eleven things to hand over, and four questions worth answering unasked.
